DIY Stocking Covered Pumpkins
Last minute decor idea for Halloween, DIY Stocking Covered Pumpkins! This is a fabulous alternative to carving your pumpkins this year….and with style. This DIY project is great whether your kids are too young for carving, short on time, want to try something unique and different this year, or if you do not want the mess pumpkin carving can create. This technique is especially perfect if you are preserving your pumpkin for Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie….from a real pumpkin, that’s right read my story here about our Pumpkin Pie from a real Pumpkin experience!

Step 1: After buying your pumpkins…pick up some inexpensive stockings / panty hose at your local retailer or use some extra old pair of fishnet stockings from home. Dress socks were well for the mini pumpkins.
I found a gorgeous pair of stockings at the dollar store.
Step 2: Place a medium size pumpkin inside of the top of the stockings, as if you were putting the stockings to wear…instead place pumpkin.
Step 3: Gather the top ‘waistband’ are and tie some baker’s twine around it or whatever string you desire to decorate your pumpkins.
Look it even covers this pumpkins imperfections….bonus!
Step 4: For the miniature pumpkins I only used one dress sock for 2 mini pumpkins. I used the same method, place the pumpkin through the top of the sock….gathered, tied a bow. They are so cute!
Done and it only took 10-15 minutes….maybe..
This technique would look amazing on white pumpkins too:)
